Hurt?

So, 2 Saturdays ago I ran 6 miles with Emily and while it felt good to "push it" my right shin and calf were stiff feeling from the beginning and even with stretching before and after I was hurting afterwards. I had shin problems last month but after learning how to stretch and warm up more efficiently made it feel better. But after this particular run I was still sore the next day which wasn't a big deal since it was a Sunday and one of my days off. Then I was sore on Monday for my next run, and even through Thursday's run. It didn't really get worse at all, except a few shots of pain if I stepped wrong or whatever. So here I am, 3 days of no running and it's still hurting. I suppose it got a little better. I don't know. It's annoying as anything. What hurts is my right shin but also my right ankle. It's hard to describe but different points have sharp pains at different times. I'm just curious how to deal with it. I'm debating seeing a sports medicine doctor since I don't need a referral but I don't know if it's needed. I suppose I should follow the RICE method for a while. But I'm really worried about my training for the Iron Girl getting derailed. I want to run it in 11 min miles. But now it hurts when I walk sometimes so I don't know. I'm trying not to get discouraged but it's hard. I also need to learn how to push myself. I have been running with Emily and it's been amazing but she is getting faster and I'm hurt. I don't want to hold anyone back. Ok, enough rambling for now. Time to get ready for another run.
